JAKE BERGMAN, CEO
Mr. Bergman is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated as a member of the dean’s and commandant’s list. Upon graduation, Jake served through multiple-deployments, including Central America and Iraq, and was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor, the 2nd highest medal awarded in the campaign, for his actions during Operation Iraqi Freedom I.
After leaving the service, Jake earned his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, graduating in the upper quartile. Following graduation, Mr. Bergman worked as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley where he advised on M&A and leveraged buyout transactions. Jake then went to work for Brinderson, a full-service EPC company serving the entire western United States, where he was responsible for sourcing and evaluating strategic acquisitions as well as managing Mr. Brinderson’s private bank. Mr.Bergman then went to work for a small, private equity backed environmental consulting firm as the Vice President of Sales and Business Development where, through rapid organic growth and tuck-in acquisitions, the company almost tripled in size in less than two years.
In early 2013, TBG Equity made an investment in Cadence and Jake took over as CEO. The company, which had suffered 5 straight years of revenue and margin decline, saw an immediate, dramatic increase in sales and margin, going from $2m in 2013 to over $11m in 2014, an increase of more than 450%, all the while almost doubling the gross margin. Subsequently, in 2014, the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Orange County Chapter nominated Cadence for its Growth Category award, putting the company in the ranks with the fastest growing companies in Southern California.
ARIA ZIATABARI, COO
Mr. Ziatabari received his MBA from the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University with an emphasis in finance and entrepreneurship.
As Director of Operations for Cadence, Aria was brought on board to oversee the transformation of company systems, business processes and operations to a purely SaaS environment, operating entirely on the Force.com (Salesforce.com ®) platform. He gained this expertise having previously worked for a boutique investment firm out of Orange County, where he focused on stripping down portfolio company operations and rebuilding for scale, growth, and metric transparency to facilitate effective oversight and guidance from Management.
